Mitja has been a good boy, he trained for last 2 seasons with enthusiasm. As a result he achieved what no slovenian rider in OCM has before: average of 52, which will soon turn into red 55 number (the manager must first find sponsor for his training in tt center).
Mitja will be captain for tough mountain races and tours with best support the team can provide. He already expressed his first wish: to participate in Volta ao Porto. We will try to hang in division 2 to fulfil his dreams in next season.
We also heard some rumors that Mitja's younger brother who just began to cycle for OCM is very talented, too. Our scout went hiking last weekend in Italian Dolomites and he came across with Ċ kerjanc brothers. Not only he was nicely surprised by Mitja's uphill speed on Passo Giau, but there was a rider following him the whole climb without any problems!
Later that day Mitja confirmed on the phone this rider was his brother, and that he had just started training for a proffessional team. Our scout then sent a message to team manager: "I can say that he is the most talented Slovenian I have ever seen, even more than his older brother..."
But will he be willing to train as hard as Mitja did? Well I guess we will see in a couple of months.
